The Irish Wolfhound is one of the Irish native breeds of dogs. The name originates from its purpose—wolf hunting with dogs—rather than from its appearance. It is the tallest of all recognised breeds. Irish Wolfhounds can be an imposing sight, standing as high as 32 inches at the shoulder and weighing as much as 180 pounds (80 kgs). Despite their formidable appearance, they are gentle giants and are truly devoted to their families. They are also relatively calm dogs, the tend to love lounging on sofas! Irish Wolfhounds come in many colours, including Black, White, Brindle, Fawn, Red, Grey. Note: Life expectancy is between 7-10 years. Larger dogs tend to have shorter lifespans than smaller dogs.

Gorgeous placid Irish Wolfhound/Labrador x Belgian Shepherd puppies from great parents, which are both owned by us. Mum is an Irish Wolfhound x Labrador, beautiful temperament a real family dog, very laid back, friendly and gentle. Dad is Frankie our Belgian Manilois / Shepherd who is unbelievably intelligent and kind natured, alert, great with kids (we have two kids 4 & 8 year), people and other dogs. 2 females, 1 bigger male. Vet checked, 1st vaccinations and microchipped etc. ready to go to their forever home. Just as an FYI: we didn’t plan on this litter, however these have to be the nicest cross of dogs you can imagine, great cross between the old Irish Wolfhound personality with the alert and great working dog mentality of the Belgian Manilois. Puppies are all brindle in colour and will make big gentle souls who will be a fantastic all around family dog. We were delighted when our beloved grey brindle Irish Wolfhound had a litter of nine healthy puppies at the beginning of the summer. The puppies are now 3 months and most of them have already found their forever homes with adoring families. We have some Wolfhound puppies left. They are IKC registered, fully vaccinated and liver shunt tests are all clear. As is evident in the photos they are perfect examples of breed standard. They are very well socialised and have beautiful temperaments. The sire is wheaten and is an internet sensation. He is part of the acclaimed Wolfhound experience and can be seen with his pack, bringing tourists on excursions around Dublin, sharing in the magic and mystery of the Irish Wolfhound breed. Wayne, the owner of the sire, was thrilled when he collected his stunning male puppy last week. These puppies are true paragons of this noble and empathetic breed.

Our puppies go with a promise of breeder support for life and a back to breeder policy if anything in your life may change and you can no longer care for your hound, we will take them back. We have created a community of like minded people who like to help each other. We organise gatherings within the Cúdáráth family and will continue to enjoy meet ups for years to come. Our dogs go to America, the UK and Europe and some are in Irish heritage castles. Health is important and we give guidance on rearing.
