The Hungarian Pumi is a lively and intelligent herding breed that originated in Hungary several centuries ago. Developed from a mix of Hungarian herding dogs and various European terrier-type dogs, the Pumi was bred to work livestock, particularly sheep and cattle. Easily recognised by its curly coat and distinctive upright ears with folded tips, the breed is energetic, alert and highly trainable. Pumis are known for their enthusiasm, quick thinking and strong work ethic, making them excellent companions for active owners.
