The Irish Red and White Setter is one of Ireland’s oldest native gundog breeds, renowned for its striking red patches on a pearly white coat. Originally bred for hunting game birds, it is an energetic, intelligent and affectionate companion that thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation. The breed is known for its friendly nature, making it an excellent family dog when given plenty of activity. Although less common than the Irish Setter, the Irish Red and White Setter is highly regarded for its versatility, loyalty and enthusiasm both in the field and at home.
