Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections.

Arnie - 20 month old - miniature Dachshund for stud

Cork Dachshund Age: 1 year

Arnie is a top of line miniature purebred Dachshund, 20 months old. He is a very fit & active Dachshund with a lot of character. He’s great with kids & other dogs. Not the yappy type. Has all the typical Dachshund traits. Fully vaccinated & IKC registered. We can provide his vaccination & family history. He walks on average 3kms per day with at least one 6km walk per week. Loves the beach & swimming but on his own terms. He’s very independent when he wants to be but also very affectionate. A great hunter having picked up some tricks from our hunting Springer but is not a working dog.
