Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund – Stud / Breeding Opportunity 🐾

We are looking for a lovely female Miniature Dachshund to breed with our boy, Presley, preferably a long-haired female, with the hope of keeping a female puppy from the litter for a family friend.

Presley is a healthy, happy 1-year-old Isabella Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund, weighing approximately 7kg, with beautiful green/gold/grey eyes (he was born with bright blue eyes).

He has an amazing temperament — incredibly friendly, affectionate, active and sociable. He is also very clever and easy to train, loves learning new things and has a really fun, outgoing personality. He loves people and gets along brilliantly with other dogs.

As this would be Presley’s first litter, we are not looking for a stud fee. Our only request would be to keep one female puppy from the litter.

Presley’s health and the health of any future puppies is really important to us, so we are happy to arrange any appropriate health or genetic testing prior to breeding. We would ideally like to find a healthy, well-tempered female, preferably long-haired, whose owners are equally focused on producing happy, healthy puppies.

1. Keep communication through our messaging system for as long as possible.
2. Choose carefully what information you share about yourself.
3. Ask for recent health check certificate from their vet, this should check for known issues with the breed & have details of vaccinations. The AKC has a comprehensive list of their health testing requirements per breed.
4. Ask breeders about their vet who has taken care of the dog and contact the vet directly.
5. Ask breeders to provide their ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details.
6. If you are new to breeding, please, please, read this article about breeding dogs.
7. Stud dogs listed need to be 12 months or older. While bigger breeds may mature faster, often health complications don't show until later.
8. Report suspicious activity to your local Garda Station & / or the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine.
