The Cairn Terrier is a small, sturdy breed originally bred in Scotland for hunting and burrowing into cairns (rock piles, and hence the name) to flush out small game. Their dense, weather-resistant coat is rough to the touch and comes in various colours, including cream, wheaten, red, grey, or nearly black.
