The breed is also known as the Bayerischer Gebirgsschweisshund, which translates to "Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound". The Bavarian Mountain Hound is a large, muscular dog with a short, dense coat that is typically black and tan in colour. The breed is known for its excellent tracking ability and is often used for hunting game such as deer or foxes.

Remy. A house dog, a companion, very affectionate, but determined when he has a cause. Comes from a shooting family, no malice or aggression, at all. Lovely temperament. Follows all the checks of the breed, vary of strangers, but comes around after introduction quickly. Great nose, especially for blood. Coat always shiny, and softer than a cat. Male or female of litter preferred as payment, or price to be arranged.
