Casper is an 8 month old male English Springer Spaniel who was born deaf. He was trained using hand signals and knows a few commands such as sit, lay down, wait, paw and spin. Over 8 years ago I imported the first dogs of this breed from Russia and Poland, and 5 years ago the first litter was born.They are closely related to Samoyeds and Huskies. Yakutian Laikas have a calm nature, are delicate and sensitive, obedient, although when unattended they may run away and attack sheep. They get along well with other dogs, as well as cats. They are very intelligent, so they are suitable for agility. Parents have been tested (hips, eyes, hearing) with normal results.
