Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections.

Wexford Dachshund Age: 2 years 1 Male

This is Benji, he is a pedigree 2 year 11 month old Miniature Dachshund. Benji is seeking a new home through no fault of his own, we simply cannot give him the time that he deserves. We would like Benji to go to a family home as he is used to children and would enjoy the company of another female dog, or a neutered male dog. He enjoys walks on the beach and playing outside, he also enjoys affection from everyone and loves to demand attention. He is the perfect family dog and we are so sad to see him go. Benji is fully vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. He is IKC registered. He is not neutered at this time but is now at the perfect age to do so.
