Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

Wexford Dachshund Age: 7 weeks

Male Dachshund puppy. Both parents are IKC registered & both health-tested copies of proof are available on request. This little guy will not be registered with the IKC because Penny had only one puppy in her litter. He has been given the best possible start. He has been wormed every two weeks, vaccinated and microchipped with Fido. Currently, he is being toilet trained and is keeping his bed and play area spotless. He is very well-socialized with other dogs and children. He has also been vet-checked and received his 8-in-1 vaccination (eyes, heart and stomach have been checked and are clear).
