Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

We have a charming male Dachshund puppy available for sale in Wexford. At just six months old, this affectionate little companion is ready to bring joy to your home. He is gorgeous rare creamy brown and tan colour, and has been fully vaccinated and wormed, ensuring he is in good health. His Mum is isabella and tan and Dad is chocolate tan dapple longhaired , this means he will carry blue and longhair gene to make Isabella and tan longhairs. We love this little boy dearly but unfortunately our other dachshund is not accepting the new addition to our home. This is the only reason we are considering to let him go to a new home. He will need lots of love, attention and affection which he himself oozes! So we would love if we could find a family that could provide him with the attention and care he deserves.
