Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

5 lovely Black & Tan long haired miniature Dachshunds for sale. They are weaned from mother Poppy and eating dry food containing 31% protein. Tan markings are very good on all puppies. While they all look very alike, they all have their own affectionate personalities. Puppies are being reared in my home with their Mother, Granny & Great Granny which can be seen & are all IKC registered. Puppies dad is Black & Tan and has won prizes at many shows throughout Ireland & registered with IKC. I am over 28 years breeding Dachshunds & take only one litter from my females.
