Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

We have a beautiful female Dachshund puppy available in Co Kildare. This light grey and brown (Lilac / Isabella) puppy is just over two months old and is already showing a very friendly temperament. She has been vaccinated and wormed, ensuring she is in excellent health and ready to join her new home. She was a recent new addition to the house but unfortunately home circumstances have changed. She is the sweetest dog and looking to give her a good home. Will include crate, orthopaedic bed, bowls, collar (too big for her now), lead, puppy pads and a bag of puppy food.
