Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

We have one stunning little boy available: Frankie, a Black and Tan miniature smooth-haired Dachshund puppy. At just 8 weeks old, he's ready for his new home. This puppy was born and raised in our home in Wicklow, where he's become accustomed to children, other dogs, cats, and the bustling environment of a busy family home. Frankie is a lively and boisterous character, full of energy. He is always ready for play and love cuddles too. Dachshunds are known for their good-natured temperament, making them excellent companions. They are loyal and often form strong bonds with their family members.
