Dachshunds are a small breed of dog that were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. They are one of the most sought after dogs on dogs.ie. They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

9 Week old miniature Dachshund puppies (IKC Pending) in Cork

Cork Dachshund Age: 9 weeks 2 Females

We have two beautiful smooth short-haired miniature Dachshund puppies in Cork city/Fermoy, just turned 9 weeks. One is a female Black/Tan and the other is a female Dapple. Extremely friendly and playful They have had their first round of vaccines, microchips, and worming tablets. They are currently registered with Fido and are pending IKC registration, hopefully will be fully registered within the next week! Mom and dad (pedigree) are both purebred and registered, and have no known history of IVDD or PRA. However, Pups have not been tested.
