They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.
