They are also sometimes called "sausage dogs" because of their long, slender bodies. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties: smooth, wire-haired, and longhaired. They are loyal and affectionate dogs that make great companions. Dachshunds are relatively easy to train, but they can be stubborn at times! They often suffer from back issues, intervertebral disc disease, due to their longer spines. They are dolichocephalic (long-faced) dogs, and thus are more prone to nasal fungal & bacterial infections. As with all breeds you should always learn a little bit about the breed.

IKC registered Kaninchen Dachshunds. IKC registration paperwork was sent off 09/01/25. For those unfamiliar with the term, Kaninchen is the smallest breed of daschund, smaller than miniature. Loving, playful, and clever puppies. Puppies have been raised in a family home and are used to being around children. Mother can be viewed with the pups. Sire can be viewed on Instagram @irish.clover.kennels in the highlight reel titled “Hamish”. The father of the sire of these pups was an entrant in Crufts two years ago - ‘The Ballincorbeg Dog’. All up to date with vaccinations and worming.

These adorable bundles of fun will be ready to go to their new homes on Friday at 8 weeks old. These rare puppies are a stunning combination of Dachshund x Maltese. Mam is an adorable Maltese/ Yorkshire Terrier and she is the most gentle loving dog. Dad is a stunning long haired black and tan Daschund, he is full of fun and adores children. Both are adored family pets and wil be here to greet you on arrival. I have both male and female puppies available. These puppies have been reared inside a busy family home with utmost love and care. They are the most adorable bundles of fun, well used to children and well adapted to household noises. All puppies are microchipped, registered with Fido, have had their 1st vaccination along with a full health check from my vet. They have been wormed regularly since 2 weeks old.
