The Briard is a large breed of herding dog that originates from France. They are not so well known in Ireland. They are known for their long, thick coat that can be either black, tawny, or grey in colour. Briards are intelligent, energetic, and protective dogs that are well-suited for a variety of roles, including as working dogs, search and rescue dogs, and therapy dogs. They are known for their strong bonds with their owners and are generally good with children. However, they can be stubborn and require consistent training and socialisation to ensure they are well-behaved and well-mannered.
