Alfie is a Purebred male Labrador for sale in Laois

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to put our lovely Alfie our Labrador up for sale. Alfie will be two years old in July. Alfie has been with us since he was a puppy.

Alfie is purebred although not IKC registered he is microchipped. Alfie came from a reputable breeder.

Alfie is an outdoor dog, he sleeps in a kennel at night time. Alfie is very friendly, playful and loyal. He is also a great protector, he will bark if anyone comes into our yard, but he is in no way aggressive or has never shown any signs of aggression. He loves coming in to our house during the day. Alfie is a very strong dog therefore his new owners will need to be experienced with dogs and also willing to take the time to work with him. Alfie was reared around children but again his strength is something to be mindful of.

1. Keep communication through our messaging system for as long as possible.
2. Choose carefully what information you share about yourself in your messages. Do share info if you have a garden, young kids, or other suitable information to help the seller know you are a suitable buyer.

1. Ask sellers to provide an ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details. You will also need to provide the same & a proof of address to transfer the microchip to your name.
2. Note microchip IDs posted here (987000010036707) and check the microchip certificates (important) when you visit to make sure they match and the sellers details are on the certificate too (see example microchip certificates).
3. Do not purchase a dog without seeing a microchip certificate. It is illegal to sell a dog without a microchip that's fully registered (info).
4. Do not purchase a dog from a seller in a car park or other business location.
5. Ask sellers about the vet who has taken care of the dogs. Ask for the dog's vaccination certificate(s).
6. Use our contract template www.dogs.ie/contract or another as a basis for a written contract & ask for a written receipt.
7. It's best not to bring young kids to first meetings, to avoid disappointment in the case you decide not to buy a dog.
