Details
Description
Presenting a beautiful litter of 5 of our 8 week old Labrador Puppies for sale from our IKC registered bitch Clonikada Astraca (aka Tara) and FTCH Corrib Jasper. 3 Males and 2 Females. These puppies have a loving temperament and are very playful and will make the ideal companion.
The Sire is the stunning FTCH Corrib Jasper from the very prestigious Corrib Gundogs owned by Mr Paul O’Brien. FTCH Corrib Jasper achieved Field Trial Champion status in his first season of competing by winning 3 Open Field Trial events and is renowned for his temperament, intelligence and drive. Paul is a National and International Field Trial Judge and has bred and produced many Field Trial Champions and I am delighted that Paul allowed me to breed Tara to one of his stunning dogs. For further information about Paul and FTCH Corrib Jasper please check out the following link http://corribgundogs.com/project/corrib-jasper-labradors-ireland/
The Dam, Clonikada Astraca (Tara) is out of the amazing GB & IR FTCH/ INT FTCH Copperbirch Mandella, who won the Irish Retriever of the Year award in 2017 as well as many other achievements and accolades. She has two sisters from her litter that have achieved FTAW status but I personally use Tara for hunting and retrieving, I have owned her since she was an 8 week old pup and she has been an absolute pleasure to own and hunt with. Tara in my opinion is the perfect rough shooting gundog, be it Pheasants, Woodcock, Duck, Snipe, etc. She is hereditary clear of all diseases, has an excellent temperament, great nose, fearless in cover and is a strong swimmer.
These pups have some of the finest bloodlines around, I am confident that whether you choose a pup for a pet, for hunting or for field trialing you will not be disappointed. I have tried my very best to give these pups the best start they can have in life and they have been:
- IKC Registered
- Microchipped
- Vet Checked
- Vaccinated
- Wormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks old

- We recommend you print or save a copy of this page for your records in case the ad is updated / closed.
Tips for purchasing a puppy
- Ask sellers to provide an ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details. You will also need to provide the same & a proof of address to transfer the microchip to your name.
- Note microchip IDs posted here (972274200628110, 972274200628114, 972274200628121, 972274200628094, 972274200628096) and check the microchip certificates (important) when you visit to make sure they match and the sellers details are on the certificate too (see example microchip certificates).
- Do not purchase a dog without seeing a microchip certificate. It is illegal to sell a dog without a microchip that's fully registered (info).
- See puppies in their home environment and see the mother of puppies.
- Make sure the puppy is 8 weeks before taking ownership of the dog (closer to 10-12 weeks is even better).
- Do not pay a deposit until you've met the owner & puppy in person.
- Do not purchase a dog from a seller in a car park or other business location.
- Ask sellers about the vet who has taken care of the dogs. Ask for the dog's vaccination certificate(s).
- Use our contract template www.dogs.ie/contract or another as a basis for a written contract & ask for a written receipt.
- It's best not to bring young kids to first meetings, to avoid disappointment in the case you decide not to buy a dog.

Microchip requirements for dogs in Ireland
Legally all dogs over the age of 12 weeks must be microchipped. All dogs advertised for sale also need to be microchipped and registered with one of the four approved Irish databases, Animark, Fido, IKC or Irish Coursing Club. Fines can be imposed for being in possession of a dog that is not microchipped.
You can click to see some public details of the dog microchip on the Europetnet website. Always ask to see the microchip cert when you view a dog and crosscheck the owners details.
Laws about microchipping are covered in the Microchippng of Dogs Regulations 2015 (S.I. No. 63 of 2015), section 3(2).
