They are an active breed that needs plenty of exercise, and they are good swimmers. They are a relatively easy breed to train, and they are good at obedience and agility. German Shorthaired Pointers are a relatively healthy breed, but they are prone to some health problems, such as hip dysplasia.

German Short Hair Pointer puppies. Mother is Purebred non registered. DAD is Purebred IKC registered, out of the Geco stud in Kildare. Sire is Italian out of Dixie of Viknobel. I own both parents. Great dogs all round.
