IKC Registered Miniature Dachshund puppies in Westmeath

We are happy to announce that in our kennel, ChamomileGrove, we have two beautiful male Dachshund puppies still available. Registered name Bodhi ChamomileGrove (chocolate and tan dapple) and Basil ChamomileGrove (black and tan) are still looking for their loving homes.

The mother, imported from Poland, is chocolate and tan weighing 4.7kg. The father, imported from Bulgaria, is black and tan dapple weighing 5.6kg. Both parents are fully genetically tested and health tested including heart screen and PRA Cord, all tests can be seen upon request. Both parents are IKC registerd and can be seen on the last photos.

These puppies are typical dachshunds breed examples, they love the sound of their own voice, digging in the garden with their big strong paws and chasing after lure toys. These puppies, like all Dachshunds, have a high prey drive and require adequate training to ensure their needs are met to prevent frustration. They are raised in a busy household, with cats, teenagers and bigger dog.

The puppies will be going home at 10 weeks old, with their first vaccinations and microchips, puppy pack including toys, food, blanket, treats and documents incluing a FAQ booklet and contract.

1. Ask sellers to provide an ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details. You will also need to provide the same & a proof of address to transfer the microchip to your name.
2. Note microchip IDs posted here (972274200728823, 972274200728715, 972274200728723) and check the microchip certificates (important) when you visit to make sure they match and the sellers details are on the certificate too (see example microchip certificates).
3. Do not purchase a dog without seeing a microchip certificate. It is illegal to sell a dog without a microchip that's fully registered (info).
4. See puppies in their home environment and see the mother of puppies.
5. Make sure the puppy is 8 weeks before taking ownership of the dog (closer to 10-12 weeks is even better).
6. Do not pay a deposit until you've met the owner & puppy in person.
7. Do not purchase a dog from a seller in a car park or other business location.
8. Ask sellers about the vet who has taken care of the dogs. Ask for the dog's vaccination certificate(s).
9. Use our contract template www.dogs.ie/contract or another as a basis for a written contract & ask for a written receipt.
10. It's best not to bring young kids to first meetings, to avoid disappointment in the case you decide not to buy a dog.
