Red Meryl male Collie with fantastic Temperament in Cork
Details
Description
I made the heartbreaking decision to find my Border Collie George a new home. He is a very beautiful Red Tri Meryl with brown/blue marbled eyes.
He is perfect in any way and it is absolutely not his fault he is looking for a home. He was not meant to stay with me permanently since I live close to the city centre in a small house with no backyard, not a location suitable for such an active dog we sill managed for a while because he is just wonderful and very forgiving and loving.
We are looking for a new home in a quiet residential or rural area where he can go for walks in peaceful parks, forests or fields.
He is just a goofy baby but incredibly obedient. Bomb proof recall under any circumstances and instant response to commands. He is ok staying alone for short periods of time but starts pacing up and down when he is left alone for hours. I am away working a full-time job in the office which is very hard for him - he still masters that but I can see how it's not easy so we would love a home for him where he has someone home most of the time.
George is healthy (no typical Border Collie conditions - hips, eyes and ears are perfectly healthy) but has food allergies (potato and poultry - very easy to work around.
Keep in mind Collies are hyper sensitive to sounds, smells and movement - the main reason for me to rehome him because I live in the city and he is exposed to a lot of sensory triggers causing constant stress in my area but also in my home.
He is not the typical Border Collie, he lives in a situation at the moment being the absolute opposite of what Collies need. He lives in a busy, small house without garden with multiple foster cats in a very loud and busy city environment. He is doing amazingly well considering that but I see how this is not good for him permanently. I want him to be happy. He is a Border Collie, he needs exercise, he is very responsive but compared to other Border Collies he is just amazing and wouldn't need a farm in the middle of nowhere to be happy. A quiet home where he doesn't have to do his business with 500 people watching would help :)
I am asking for money for him to ensure he is going to a good home where he gets the care he needs but the money will fully be donated to a rescue (D.A.W.G. most likely if you don't have another suggestion) It is desperately needed there and I don't want to make money with animals. If you want to use some money for him to get him what he needs - for the right home we can definitely discuss the amount of the donation.
Thank you for reading all the way through. If you get in touch please tell me something about yourself and your home. A new home would be checked thoroughly - George only goes to a home that would mean an improvement to him and where he would be loved just as much as I love him. And please ask all questions you might have, I can't write a novel here but I want it to be a match for his new owner and himself.
