The Akita Inu is a calm quiet breed that will seldom bark. They are very clean dogs and make great house dogs, despite their size. They tend not to do great with other dogs, and most trainers will say they should never be left alone in same sex pairs. These would be good as a single pet for a family. They need training from an early age, and will need to be continued into adulthood. Akitainu do shed their coats, like Huskys, twice a year. Expect your home to be covered in tufts of hair for a few weeks each year. Japanese Akitas are on the restricted dogs list.

Luna ♥️ the female Akita in Wexford

Wexford Akita Age: 2 years 1 Female

Luna is a pure breed Akita girl. She is 2.5 years old and went through a lot for her young age .but she is a fighter and despite of that she never lost her playful and enthusiastic nature . She was born with a grade 4 heart murmur . We adopted her and scheduled her for a surgery in 2023. All went well and Luna found a new home in Hungary.. unfortunately the old gentleman adopted her back in 2023 had a severe accident and couldn't look after her any longer..therefore we we brought her back to Ireland. Here some facts about Luna . She is an active playful girl and loves to be around her family and get attention. She loves people She loves to be loved 💗. She used to be an indoor dog and has to be in the new family as well . She loves to stay outside in the garden as well ( eventually when at work for a couple of hours) but not really all day and overnight. She has to be only dog ..she isn't getting on with cats or smaller dogs . She might be ok with an adult male dog . pending on meet and greet All vaccines and worming are up to date .she has also rabies vaccine Sooo if you would like to meet Luna ...please get in touch 😊.
