Axel the Bernese Mountain Dog

Axel is our beloved pet. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. His family line can be traced to Great Grandparents. He is extremely friendly, gentle and calm, so much so our vet always compliments his temperament. He is very sociable with both humans and dogs, and is regularly socialised with other dogs of various sizes. Axel's markings and stature are beautiful and sought after. He weighs in at 45kg, and is very healthy and agile for a large breed.

IKC and Bernese Association registered and regular vet visits.

1. Keep communication through our messaging system for as long as possible.
2. Choose carefully what information you share about yourself.
3. Ask for recent health check certificate from their vet, this should check for known issues with the breed & have details of vaccinations. The AKC has a comprehensive list of their health testing requirements per breed.
4. Ask breeders about the vet who has taken care of the dog and contact the vet directly.
5. Ask breeders to provide their ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details.
6. If you are new to breeding, please, please, read this article about breeding dogs.
7. Stud dogs listed need to be 12 months or older. While bigger breeds may mature faster, often health complications don't show until later.
8. Report suspicious activity to your local Garda Station & / or the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine.
