Mo is a 4 year old female Border Collie (Small) in Sligo

Mo is a quiet, shy 4 year old female Border Collie who needs more that we can give her as my work circumstances have changed.

A very well bred small Border Collie, she was given to us in 2022 for a companion to our other dog. She had been obtained for sheepdog trials by her previous owner due to her breeding but didn't make the grade for a top competitor.

She lives for being brought out the fields for a walk but we just don't have the time for this. She deserves a home where she can be someones main companion. She is affectionate and lives mostly outdoors but likes to pop her head in the house as well.

Notes

• We have not done any training with her. She will sit etc and shows good instincts around herding etc but hasn't had training.
• She doesn't like children - She will hide if they are about but she loves older people and is very affectionate.
• She will be neutered before she goes to her new home.
• She comes in and out of the house and we have never had any accidents so assume house trained.

A Good Home is the only important thing here for us- We will not sell her for breeding purposes - Price is negotiable for the right home.

We assume that she is probably too old to be of use as a working dog or to be properly trained at this age.

Her ideal home would be with an elderly farmer who has no real need for a working dog but more a companion who will be by their side daily. It needs to be someone who spends a good bit of time outdoors as she lives for farm walks.

1. Ask sellers to provide an ID (driver's licence / passport) and take note of their contact details. You will also need to provide the same & a proof of address to transfer the microchip to your name.
2. Note microchip IDs posted here (977200009975384) and check the microchip certificates (important) when you visit to make sure they match and the sellers details are on the certificate too (see example microchip certificates).
3. Do not purchase a dog without seeing a microchip certificate. It is illegal to sell a dog without a microchip that's fully registered (info).
4. Do not purchase a dog from a seller in a car park or other business location.
5. Ask sellers about the vet who has taken care of the dogs. Ask for the dog's vaccination certificate(s).
6. Use our contract template www.dogs.ie/contract or another as a basis for a written contract & ask for a written receipt.
7. It's best not to bring young kids to first meetings, to avoid disappointment in the case you decide not to buy a dog.
